First Look: Eire’s Blue E book reveals two new members for 2021

The 19th-century mansion in Connemara and the famous Dublin restaurant are an addition to the 2021 Irish Blue Book.

elphi Lodge, a 13-bed dormitory dating back to the 1830s, is located on a 1,000-acre site in Delphi Valley, Co Galway.

Popular as a fishing village and traditional lodge, its large house, group food, dining room and reception rooms with a wood fire are supported by six small dining rooms.

Although closed below the Level 5 closure, future prices are announced from € 125pp, with a minimum of three days for less than 16 guests.

In Dublin, Dax Restaurant offers fine Irish and French cuisine on Pembroke Street Upper. Head Chef Graham Neville focuses on local ingredients, and the wine list is a favorite of city foodies.

At the closing, it offers a ‘Dax Home’ service, featuring weekend lists including maim like roibut roast and Jerusalem artichoke and clam sauce, or Mount Leinster beef steak sausage, which is used for starter, salt, bread designed for € 44pp.

Laura Bowe, chair of the Blue Book of Ireland, welcomed the newcomers.

“It has been a difficult year for our market, and I would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support. I hope they will be thrilled to learn about Dax Restaurant and Delphi Lodge in the coming years.”

Although most of its sites are currently closed, members of the Irish Blue Book are open and “very busy, thank you” during the summer retirement, and vouchers continue to sell strongly.

“From the messages we see, I think there are a lot of people who do thank you, and also give gifts on birthday and events,” CEO Michelle Maguire told the Irish Independent recently.

“It gives them little hope, and something to look forward to.”

There are no departures from the conference in the coming months, bringing the total to 57.

You should know: Dax Restaurants

“Dax’s promotion comes as a result of Olivier Meisonnave’s love for his Aquitaine home in southwestern France and their old mix of Occitan, Angevin and Basque in the region has transformed beautiful, high-quality music,” the Irish Book of Ireland says.

Chef Graham Neville has worked at a restaurant at TRU with Les Nomades in Chicago, Fat Duck of Heston Blumenthal in Bray, Le Caprice in London, La Pyramide in Lyon plus seven years with Kevin Thornton at a restaurant in Dublin.

The restaurant is very popular with families and restaurants. It currently reserves a Christmas dinner (from € 50pp for three courses) and dinner (from € 85pp for three courses). Email [email protected] for more information.

You should know: Delphi Lodge

Delphi Lodge was built in the 1830s by the Marquis of Sligo as a hunting ground and lodge. He is known as “Delphi” based on what the valley resembles Oracle’s house in Greece.

The small resort is located about eight miles from Leenane, surrounded by some of the highest mountains in western Ireland, and popular with hikers, sculptors and other asylum seekers.

In addition to well-known Atlantic fish species, wildlife includes otters, badgers, pine martens and falgrine falcons.

The Killary Fjord is only about two miles[2 km]away, and there are several sandy beaches, some of which are ideal for flooding, shortly after the site.
