Elaine Ethier has died peacefully at Hunt Community in Nashua, NH, November 23, 2020, after a short illness. Elaine was born in Nashua, NH, on June 18, 1933, the daughter of Sam and Mildred (Burnham) Dachos. She was the wife of the late Richard “Dick” Ethier, whom he married 50 years before his death in 2003. Elaine was also named by his five siblings, including Melba Congelton, Lucielle Gelpi, James Dachos, Joan Aguirre, and Captain John Dachos.

Elaine studied at Nashua Senior High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Banking. His job at the bank also included his responsibilities at Bank of NH and Nashua Trust Company, where he retired as Vice President of Operations.

Elaine was a member and former President of the NH Bank Administration Institute, a member of Zonta International, a member of the Adult Learning Center, and a member of the Nashua Chamber of Commerce.

Elaine and her husband enjoyed traveling, including trips to the United States and Europe. They spent most of the winter at The Villages in Florida with many of their friends from Nashua. In addition to the trip, Elaine and her husband were glass lovers, cooks and card players, as members of the Nashua Country Club. She also loves to have fun and enjoy cooking for her family and friends.

Elaine is survived by her children Michael Ethier and his wife Janine, Linda Garner and her husband Robert, as well as Michelle Raczek and her husband Stefan; grandchildren including Glenn Garner (Melanie), Amanda Burgess, Kerry Varley (Adam), Jessica Dunlap (Jake), Katie Ethier, Elisabeth Raczek, and Christopher Raczek. He also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren. In addition, Elaine is survived by her special niece, Karen Fenn, who enjoys traveling with her, as well as a number of other grandchildren.

Elaine’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Hunt Community in Nashua, where Elaine lived in a private and pre-nursing home. He received a lot of attention, especially last year during a difficult time.

MINISTRY: A small cemetery will be held at St Louis de Gonzage Cemetery on December 1, 2020, at 11:00 am Instead of flowers, the family will request donations to be donated to Elaine in commemoration of The Salvation Army, 1 Montgomery Avenue, Nashua, NH 03060.
